For some obscure reason, when you're talking about your whereabouts in NZ, you are either 'in' the North Island or 'in' the South Island. I have no idea why, but it's a kiwi thing I've been noticing lately. (i love otago because it's beautiful and wild and clean, but the population isn't enough to support what i'd like to do) A thing about New Zealand.
