Viva la fruit!

What an awesome post. I've been wondering how your gardens did this year. How cool will this be in ten years when you can look back and reminisce on each years harvest!

I've been researching edible gardens for Portland and have convinced myself that I must grow some berry bushes so I can try my hand at making Elderberry wine. Also...currant jelly and raspberry jelly!

By the way, Bruce and I now have something in common...caring for a wounded lemon tree. Our little Meyer went through a year of troubles that included scale and sooty mold. I spent a lot of time nursing that baby back to health, including wiping down each leaf by hand! The main lesson learned is to prevent ants from accessing the tree, which is what causes the scale and the scale causes the mold. Oi!

I'm gonna miss that lemon tree for sure.

Wow are you two ever into the Harvest mode. Excellent!!!
I'd particularly like to sign up for the cobbler and any dribblings of jams or chutneys. Anybody got PIE???
Love hearing of your adventures and we will now subscribe henceforth to Get Growing. Much appreciate your scholarly accounts. Love and Hugs on a Sunny Day on the Canterbury plains. Alex
